Actor Kareem ‘Abd Al ‘Azeez has affirmed that his health has improved markedly and that he has passed the critical stages of the lung infarctions he suffered while in London. The actor also indicated that he is currently undergoing a period of convalescence and will return to Egypt in 20 days as flying could adversely affect his condition at the present time.Kareem’s statements were made in his first telephone interview following his health crisis, an interview which he conducted with the “Masr el-Nahar Dah” (“Egypt Today”) program. In his call Kareem explained that he had travelled to London for a medical trip with his mother and suddenly experienced sharp pains in his chest. Thereafter he went to the hospital where a doctor told him that there were eight infarctions in his lung but reassured him of the fact that the infarctions were not blocking any arteries feeding the heart. A one week stay at the hospital saw his condition improve markedly as the infarctions were treated. The actor is now undergoing a period of recovery and plans to return to Egypt in 20 days, that is once doctors clear him for flying.
