Completion of half the scenes for “Fee Hadrat al-Gheiab”

Renowned Syrian director Nagda Anzour has completed about half the scenes for his new series “Fee Hadrat al-Gheiab” which handles the biography of celebrated poet Mahmoud Darwish. The director has completed shooting the scenes relating to Haifaa which recount his childhood and youth and his introduction to several personalities who had an important influence with regards to his life and career. Artist Feras Ibrahim – who stars in and produces the work – has stated to the al-Ahram Evening newspaper that it is expected that the work’s crew will be transported to Damascus so as to resume filming the remaining stages of Derwish’s life. Filming at Damascus will take between two to three weeks before the crew travels to Beirut to shoot another stage of Derwish’s life which coincided with the civil war in Lebanon. Thereafter filming will be concluded with ten days of shooting at each of Egypt and France where the closing period of his life will be presented.The screenplay for “Fee Hadrat al-Gheiab” was authored by Hassan M. Youssif. Feras Ibrahim portrays Derwish while Mohamed Sheikh Naguib portrays the well-known Lebanese musician Marcel Khalifa who is expected put together the music and songs for the work. The work also features more than 200 Arab and Egyptian artists who take part in the epic series.
