A few days ago, singer Mayyaada al-Hennaawy has finished shooting her new video clip “Mossafera ana raahela i.e. Traveling, I am leaving”. Mayyaada sang the song, written by the Iraqi Salaam Kazzaaz and composed by Kareem H’mayyem, in Eloquent Arabic.Al-Hennaawy, whose patriotic song “Shaam al-‘Arab” is currently being broadcasted on TV channels along with the current crisis in Syria, thinks that the patriotic song coming from the heart addressing the nation and the conscience is the most enduring, a pride for the artist who sings the praise for his homeland and for his honor. Singing for the patria is like singing for the mother, custodian of all countrymen, she pointed that the patriotic song should not only be limited on occasions but must always be present on radio and television, so the people memorize it and becomes part of their daily life. She added that the real committed artist must show his love and loyalty to his homeland at any time, because at the end, his voice belongs to his nation and his audience. The artist’s voice activates the aesthetic and national senses for people and increases the cohesion and love of the countrymen towards their homeland.
