Al Azhar announces suing the mini series “Al Hassan and Al Hussein”

After many satellite channels announced that they will play the series “Al Hassan and Al Hussein” Alazhar decided to go to court based on a legislative law that was passed in the year 1926 that forbade the physical personification of the prophet, his family and the sahaba. That law was passed when actor Youssef Wahby wanted to make a movie called the prophet about the prophet Muhamad, but Al Azhar angrily refused claiming this would go against the sacred nature of religious idols. The series is a joint production between several Arab countries Syria being the lead country.
