Waheed Hamed hails “AL Azhar’s “ decision concerning the series “Al Hassan and Al Hussein”

Surprisingly for an author who has been classified as always opposing the conservative Islamic current, whether in art or politics, author and script writer Waheed Hamed stated that he supported the decision made by Al Azhar to stop playing the series “Al Hassan and Al Hussein” explaining that AL Azhar is responsible for preserving the Islamic heritage. He added to the news paper “The 7th Day” : “ That impersonating characters like Al Hassan and Al Hussein and some of the sahaba of the prophet , genuinely does cause discomfort for the religious institutions .” He said that he has personally tried to watch the series but didn’t find it stimulating or fact relating. The series benefited with all the publicity that came before it was played on TV. In reality the series will just deepen the differences between the Muslim Shiites and Sunnis, which is something we refuse.
