Hameed was celebrating with Arabs and other Egyptians in front of the Libyan embassy in Zamalek, raising both the Egyptian and Libyan flags. Simultaneously other Libyans were celebrating the victory inside Tripoli’s green field, chanting “Egypt and Libya are one hand”In the midst of International and Egyptian recognition of the transitional government, the old flag symbolizing Kadafi’s reign was bought down and the new independent revolutionary flag was raised instead. In a thrilling declaration Hameed expressed his happiness to have lived to see 2 revolutions in both his homelands (Egypt and Libya) , and said that he was certain that the tyrant Al Kadafi will not last for long. In addition, he explained “we do not give up, we win or we die.” Like many Libyans, Hameed now awaits the capture of Al Kadafi to prosecute him as a war criminal in an international court.
