Although director Tarek El Erian has completed shooting 70% of the movie “Walls of the Moon” a year ago, yet the movie has been repeatedly postponed for many reasons. Currently, the most recent date for the movie’s release is during the mid year break.Actress Mona Zaki claims that there are reasons for all this constant postponing. First it started off by declining some of the nominated starts for some of the roles such as Sherif Monir and Ahmed Fahmy because of the fact that the movie is multiple stardom, and instead actors Asser Yassin and Amr Saad were brought in to replace actors Monir and Fahmy. Following that, the revolution took place and the whole country was going through chaos. Then Asser Yassin got involved in his new movie “Beebo and Beshir” and Amr Saad in his new series “Abdel Aziz Street” which meant yet another period of postponement. The third reason as stated by Mona to “Al Wafd” newspaper was that the final scenes of the movie required filming outside in the streets and squares of Cairo which made it extremely difficult to acquire during the current lack of traffic organization. Even though the movie took 4 years of preparation and 7 months of continuous filming, actress Mona Zaki did not seem alarmed because she believes that in the end the goal is for the movie to come out in the most agreeable and gratifying way and this is what she expects. The story for the movie is written by Mohamed Hefzy and script by Tamer Habib and it is directed by Tarek El Erian. Staring Mona Zaki, Asser Yassin, Amr Saad, Mohamed Shaheen and Salwa Mohamed Ali.
