Director Sandra Nashaat decided to change the location of some of the scenes in her movie “The Interest” due to fear of political instability in Sinai (the area in which the filming originally was to take place) and instead filming in Wadi Degla.Wadi Degla is a remote desert area within Cairo that slightly resembles the physical appearance of the Sinai dessert. However, some scenes will still be shot in Sharm El Shiekh as well as Lebanon. 3 weeks ago Sandra had resumed filming, after an 8 month period of pausing, because of the revolution and its effects. It was very hard then to continue filming this particular movie because most of its scenes are outdoors and in areas that are not provided with the adequate security.“The Interest” portrays the war between the police force and the drug cartels through 2 individuals each one belonging to one of the sides. The movie is written by Wael Abdulla and directed by Sandra Nashaat, and it is starring Ahmed El Sakka, Ahmed Ezz, Hanan Tork, Zeina, Salah Abdulla, Ahmed El Sadaany and Nehal Ambar.
