In a statement made to the Middle East broadcasting agency by script writer Medhat El Adl, he stated that his new script for the movie “The Priest” staring Hani Salama, has nothing to do with what has been and is currently happening on a political level in terms of events that took place that insinuate sectarian sedition during 2011.El Adl explains that the movie portrays the priest from a humanitarian point of view, and depicts a young man who seeks consecration through becoming a priest, after going through a traumatizing experience. From there, the relationship between the priest and God is particularly highlighted without stereotyping Christianity or priests. The movie will be directed by Ahmed Nader Galal and most of its scenes will be filmed in the monastery of Saint Catherine in Sinai, along with some other scenes filmed in Cairo. The cast and crew are currently waiting for actor Hani Salama to finish filming his movie “One Whole One” that will be released during Eid so they can commence the filming of their movie beginning of December 2011.
