Donia Samir Ghanem is nominated for another series about “Shafeeka and Metwali”

In a declaration made by director Hosni Saleh and actress Somaya El Khashaab of their intention to re make the classic “Shafeeka and Metwali”, script writer Gaber Abdel Salam also announced completing his script for the same classic for a television series. He also signed a contract with a production company that nominated Egyptian actress Donia Samir Ghanem for the starring role.The obvious difference between director Hosni Saleh and script writer Gaber Abdel Salam is that although both are targeting the same idea, which is the classic “Shafeeka and Metwali” yet director Saleh wants to preserve all the classic details the series contains, while script writer Abdel Salam wants to remake it in a more contemporary manner.In a statement to “Al Masry Al Yom” newspaper, Abdel Salam nominated actor Hassan Al Radad to play the role of “Metwali” and actor Hassan Hosni to play “Gergawy” the father of Shafeeka and Metwali. He also nominated other actors such as Basem Samra, Yasser Galal and Ahmed Khalil and many more.The most famous citation of the story was the movie for director Ali Badrakhan that was also called “Shafeeka and Metwali” produced in 1978 staring legendary Suad Hossni, Ahmed Zaki and Mahmoud Abdel Aziz.
