“A Lover from the countryside” is the opening film for Marrakech International Film Festival.

For its 11th tournament Marrakech International Film Festival chose the movie “A Lover from the Countryside” for its opening film. The festival is scheduled to end by December 10th 2011. The movie is a Moroccan, Belgium, French joint production. The movie stars Nadia Konda, Mourad El Zakendy, Wedad Alma, Nadia Niazi, Fahd Beneshmesi, Omar Lotfi, Seham Asif and Rawya. “A Lover from the countryside” is directed by Narjes El Naggar. The story behind the movie is about a 20 year old girl from the countryside who lives with her siblings. She is a romantic rebel and dreamer who dreams of the perfect love. Both her brothers work for the Baron who generates the biggest drug cartels in the countryside. However, her dreams of the perfect love are shattered when one of her brothers trades her to the Baron for a piece of land to used to plant drugs.
