The International Film Festival of Marrakech eleventh edition honors the Italian cinema rebel Marco Bellocchio

The International Film Festival of Marrakech eleventh edition on the evening of last Thursday, honored the director Marco Bellocchio nicknamed rebel of the Italian cinema.Bellocchio’s film “Fists in the Pocket” in 1965 a reference of ideologies criticism, which continued expressing this criticism in his other works, “China Is Near”, "In the Name of the Father”, “Slap the Monster on Page one” and “Victory March”.He loved the seventh art world after a great experience in plastic arts, the Italian actress Maya Sansa member of jury for long films that played main roles in the movies he directed such as: “The Nanny” and “Good Morning, Night”, said that she is happy to participate in his honoring, because he presented her to the cinema.After mentioning her affect with Bellocchio, his openness and own vision, she said this cinematic contributed to the evolution of Italian cinema.Director Bellocchio who was born in 1939 in Piacenza, studied philosophy at the Catholic University of Milan then joined the Experimental Film Center in Rome to study acting but turned into directing study, where he signed 2 short movies in 1961 and 1962 “La colpa e la pena” and “Ginepro fatto uomo” and directed his first long movie “Fists in the Pocket” where he participated with it in Locarno Festival in 1965, which granted him a special award for a lifetime achievement, as both Anouk Aimee and Michel Piccoli in “A Leap in the Dark” movie won Best Actress and Best Actor Awards in Kan Festival 1980.
