Artists and intellectuals meet to discuss freedom of creativity in the next stage

Recently a council to defend the freedom of creativity has been formed. The council is made up of director Dawood Abdel Sayed, Professor Sayed Khattab, Professor Khaled Abdel Galeel and Professor Emad Abu Ghazi. It also included actress Layla Elwi being a producer as well as an actress, producers Mohamed El Adl, Issad Younis, Mohamed Hassan Ramzy and Monib El Shafie.According to Tahrir newspaper, the initiative was taken to preserve the freedom of creativity says Dawood Abdel Sayed especially that under the current conditions there are no signs of a state with a sound democratic government that includes parties with multi faiths, trends, programs and goals.There is fear that the ruling party will control all means of media such as the press, radio, television, theater and music. This is exactly what director Dawood Abdel Sayed refuses, he claims that the media should be independent of the state to ensure a proper expression of art. There is apprehension because of the Islamic parties winning the elections.
