The U.S. box office celebrated New Year with enormous revenues amounting to 139 millions dollars by the end of the current week.The first four top movies -in the list of the highest films' revenues- are all distributed by United Motions' Picture (the largest distribution company in the Arabic World).Among these movies is "Sherlock Holmes (A Game of Shadows)" which came in the third place and brought in 14 million dollars to bring its total to 157 million dollars."Alvin and the chipmunks 3 (Chipwrecked)" took the fifth place with approximately 9.5 million dollars and a total of 111 million dollars.Seventh place for "We Bought a Zoo", starred by the prominent actors Matt Damon and Scarlette Johanson and directed by Cameron Cro. The movie brought in 8.5 million dollars and a total of 65 million dollars since the 23rd of December.The film narrates the story of a single father who decides to live with his kid in a zoo, which he bought in order to renew it to regain its previous reputation.Among the top 10 films is "New Year's Eve" movie, which scored 3.3 million dollars and a total of 52 million dollars.For notice, United Motions' Picture has already distributed "Sherlock Holmes (A Game of Shadows)", "Alvin and the chipmunks 3 (Chipwrecked)" and "New Year's Eve" in Egypt and is expected to distribute "We Brought a Zoo" in Egypt soon.
