Iran VS Israel for the Oscars

The American Academy for Modern Arts and Science announced its preliminary list for the nominees of "Best Foreign Film" Award which had the Iranian film " Infisal" for director Asghar Farhadi as expected and getting closer to winning the Oscar. The list also included the Moroccan film " Omar Qatalani" which is about a Moroccan immigrant accused of a murder in Cannes, France and he seeks to prove his innocence. This is considered the first time for Morocco to reach the final list for the Oscars. Also, Israel is in this list for the fourth time in a row with a film titled "Footnote".This list also includes "Bullhead" from Belgium, "Monsieur Lazhar" from Canada, "Superclásico" from Denmark, "Pina" from Germany, "In Darkness" from Poland and "Warriors of the Rainbow: Seedig bale" from Taiwan. This list of nine films will be decreased to five films only which will be announced on 26 Jan.Even though it received a positive feedback in Cannes, the Lebanese film "Hala Lawain" was ruled out from this list which was quite a surprise to many.
