Inas El Deghedy : I will fight anyone who tries to refrain or restrict artistic creativity.

In an interview through a program called “Sabah El Arabeya” or “Good morning Arabic”, director Inas El Deghaidy discussing her divorce, stated that this experience, after a marriage that lasted 29 years was a very painful one. She also added that both herself and her husband agreed to do it quietly, stating that the reason was the boredom they both felt within the marriage.Inas aggressively added that she refuses any form of restrictions or refraining of any sort to art and creatively claiming that the age of repression is over, and it is now time to freely allow artistic expression. Inas was about to start a new project for a movie called “Silence” or “Al Samt” depicting adultery and incest. This movie created much animosity towards her especially from religious extremists, especially after the censorship committee rejected many of its scenes and script that was written by Rafeek El Sabaan.
