On Saturday the 28th of January the annual celebration of the “Directors Guild of America” took place, to present its trophy to the most predominant directing talent for the year 2011.The movie “The Artist” for director Michel Hazanavicius received the award for best director. This award allowed Michel to excel in comparison to his rivals such as Woody Allen, David Fincher, Alexander Payne and Martin Scorsese. In the case of “the Artist” winning the Oscar for best film that would be the first foreign film which the USA has not produced to receive an Oscar, making that a great achievement for the French cinema.
