Naseer Shamma, the Iraqi musician founder and director of "Arab Oud House" in Fatimid Cairo, is having a concert today, Friday, in Culture Wheel in Zamalek at 9 pm. Shamma is to perform many of his magnificent music pieces that his fans have been waiting for. In his interview with "Al Ahram Al Masaee", Shamma announced that he will be traveling to his country, Iraq, in a few days to open "House of Oud" there in an antique house in Haifa str. This will be the first time that Shamma returns to Iraq after 17 years because of his issues with the late president Saddam Hussein. He then did not want to go to Iraq during the USA army presence there. When he founded the "Arab Oud House" in Cairo in 1999, he aimed to establish a place for all lute players that supplies them with the required skills and specifications to become solo players.
