"Moonrise Kingdom" opens the 65th run of Cannes.

As announced by management of the Cannes International Film Festival, "Moonrise Kingdom" will be the opening film for its 65th run on 16 May 2012. An American film by Wes Anderson about a boy and a girl live in an island of the coast of New England in the 1960's who fall in love and flee to the wild. A local search party tries to find them whereas the island's calm life is turned up-side-down. Anderson is considered the best director of his own generations from the 90's with a unique cinematic print by just six film, where "Moonrise Kingdome" seems to be doing just as fine by opening the most important film festival globally.The film stars Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Frances McDormand and Tilda Swinton as well as Bill Murray who's worked with Anderson in five of his films. The film will be premiered in cinemas on 23 May.
