Mahdi Mabrouk, the Tunisian Minister of Culture, stated to "Al Safee" Lebanese paper that he is not against any Lebanese singers, however, there are standards that must be implemented when choosing who sings in Carthage Music Festival. Those standards are the same which are implemented in both Baalbek and Beit El Din festivals. He welcomed Assi Al Hellany, Julia Botros, Nagwa Karam and Zeyad Al Rahbani. Assi Al Hellany expressed his honor and happiness by this message from the minister. He said that the Tunisian audience has fine taste for classical art which makes it majestic to sing in front of them. Assi also added that he always feared to stand in Carthage theatre but he is very much looking forward to it.It is known that the Tunisian Minister had rejected the participation of Ellissa, Nancy Ajram, Fadl Shaker, Sherine Abd El Wahab and Tamer Hosni in the next run of Carthage festival.
