Yesterday the 21st of March, the great screen writer and poet "Tonino Guerra" has passed away at the age of 92.The valuable Italian poet has left a number of unforgettable masterpieces in the Italian movies.He has cooperated with the Masters of Cinema including the latest filmmaker, screenwriter and film producer, "Theo Angelopoulos" who died couple of months ago.He collaborated with the director "Michelangelo Antonioni" in most of his movies including "Blow-Up" (1966) for which Guerra was nominated for an Oscar award. He participated as well with "Federico Fellini" in a number of movies including "Amarcord" (1972) for which he was also nominated for an Oscar. In addition to that, he participated with the Russian director "Andrei Tarkovsky" in writing the script of "Nostalgia" which was filmed in Italy and displayed in 1983.The head of Cannes Films Festival, Gilles Jacob has expressed his deep sadness saying:" We feel sorrow in Cannes to lose one of the great screenwriters in Italy. Cannes has always hosted the great Guerra,Tarkovsky ,Antonioni, Fellini and Theo Angelopoulos but now they are all gone".
