Minutes ago, "Amour" was announced as the winner of the big one in the 65th edition of Cannes Film Festival, directed by Michael Haneke. It came as no surprise as many reports already considered it a front runner. The film tells the story of an old couple and how they live together after the husband suffered from a stroke. This is the 2nd Palme d'Or for Haneke in just three years after "The White Ribbon" in 2009, joining a list of a select few of six directors who won it twice. The Grand Prix went to "Reality" directed by Matteo Garrone who wins it for the 2nd time as well, while the Jury prize went to "The Angel's share" directed by Ken Loach, while the best director award went to Carlos Reygadas who directed "Post Tenebras Lux"; however, he didn't look that much thrilled about it.As for acting awards, Mads Mikkelsen won the best actor for "The Hunt", while "Beyond the Hills" stars Cristina Flutur and Cosmina Stratan shared the spoils for best actress, while the film itself won another award for best screenplay.
