Willem Dafoe: Marc Webb offered nothing new in the new Spiderman movie

Actor Willem Dafoe has expressed his wonder of movie "The Amazing Spiderman", and sees that it didn't introduce anything different than what Sam Raimi offered in his trilogy starting 2002 where Dafoe played the Green Goblet, Spiderman's nemesis.Dafoe confirmed in his interview with Empire magazine that he hadn't seen the movie yet, but he watched several scenes and was astonished that it was the same story and nothing new was introduced. He added that he wished the movie makers well, but the magic of the first movie cannot be erased.The movie production company, Sony, declared recently that there will be another two parts for the movie starring young actor Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone and directed by Marc Webb. Some referred Dafoe's comments to the fact that the Green Goblet wasn't in the movie and that the director had the character only mentioned by name in some scenes in the movie.
