Yasser Arafat on the silver screen through George Clooney.

According to Hollywood Reporter website; Hollywood star and Oscar winner George Clooney has agreed to portray the late Palestinian president "Yasser Arafat" in the new 3D biopic about his life entitled "Yasser".The film will be produced by Dream Works in cooperation with Doha Cinema Institution and it's about the late president's life beginning with his involvement in the 1948 Arab-Israeli war as a young revolutionist, going through establishing the Palestinian Liberation Organization, Lebanese Civil War, the 1st Intifada and Oslo Accords and ending with the siege on his house and death in 2004.It is expected that Ann Hathaway is to play Arafat's wife "Soha Arafat" and Chris Hemsworth to play Arafat during his youth. Kevin Spacey is confirmed to portray Yitzhak Rabin and Alan Rickman to play Benjamin Netanyahu.Speculations about the unknown director go to Peter Jackson since he spoke lately about Arafat's life and pointed that it should be brought to the silver screen in three separate films.
