The fourth “Paranormal Activity” beats the second “Taken”

Paramount’s successful supernatural and horror film “Paranormal Activity 4” scored a strong entry to the North American box office with a whopping 30.2 million dollars and landing in first place after it premiered in 3,412 theaters. “Paranormal Activity 4” is about a family who witnesses weird things happening in their house and are able to see them when they install home video cameras. In second place for the second week in a row is “Argo” with 16.6 million dollars added to its gross to make it a total of 43.1 million dollars. The film is the third directorial experience for Ben Affleck after “Gone Baby Gone” in 2007 and “The Town” in 2010.The animation “Hotel Transylvania” comes in third place with 13.5 million added to its gross of 119 million.And after being on top of the box office for two weeks in a row; Fox’s “Taken 2” takes a tough slope down the ladder and lands in fourth place with just 13.4 million this week to make its total gross so far 105.9 million. As for the new comer “Alex Cross” comes in fifth place with 11.7 million. As for the second horror film in the box office this week “Sinister” makes 9 million and jumps down from third to sixth place and makes its gross so far 31.9 million after just two week of screening. Down from fifth to seventh is “Here Comes the Boom” with 8.5 million but the 7 million for “Pitch Perfect” takes it up to eight place.Walt Disney’s “Frankenweenie” lands in ninth place with 4.4 million to make its total gross so far after three weeks 28.3 million. “Looper” lands in tenth with a total of 57.8 million after four weeks of screening added to them the 4.2 million from last week.
