Talks between "Argo" director and star Ben Affleck and Warner Bros. have born some exciting news: Affleck will be directing the adaptation of Stephen King's post-apocalyptic novel "The Stand," according to Digital Spy.
The project is still in the development phase, and Affleck recently told GQ "we're having a very hard time."
"But I like the idea - it's like 'The Lord of the Rings' in America. And it's about how we would reinvent ourselves as a society. If we started all over again, what would we do?"
Meanwhile, Ben Affleck talked about his desire to work with Twilight star Kristen Stewart, saying she is "terrific." He's hoping she'll sign on to co-star with him in the new romantic comedy "Focus."
