Shakira's former boyfriend of ten years, Antonio de la Rua, is taking breaking up rituals to a whole new level. Beyond the standard exchange of clothing and DVDs, de la Rua is demanding $100 million in damages from the Columbian star in a lawsuit he filed on Wednesday in New York. To his credit, he has been managing her business and "brand" since 2004, and claims to have orchestrated her $300 million dollar deal with Live Nation in 2008.
In 2000, the "Shewolf" songstress started dating de la Rua, an Argentinian lawyer and son of former Argentinian president Fernando de la Rua. Early in 2011, the pair published a public letter announcing their split. They wrote, "During our almost 11 years together we have loved each other deeply... However, since August 2010, we made a mutual decision to take time apart from our romantic relationship."
Shakira has not yet made any statements about the lawsuit. The singer has been living in Barcelona with boyfriend and soccer star Gerard Pique. She is six months pregnant with their first child!
