Steven Spielberg's political dram "Lincoln"collected the highest number of the British Academy Awards "BAFTA" nominationswhich were announced Wednesday morning. The film won 10 nominations in thecategories of Best Film, Leading Actor for Daniel Day-Lewis, Supporting Actressfor Sally Field, Supporting Actor, Production Design, Costume Design, Makeup& Hair, Original Music and Adapted Screenplay.
Coming in next are "Les Misérables"and "Life of Pi" who collected 9 nominations each followed by "Skyfall"with 8 nominations, then "Argo" with 7.
The nominations for Leading Actress wentto Jennifer Lawrence for her role in "Silver Linings Playbook",Jessica Chastain for her role "Zero Dark Thirty", Helen Mirren in "Hitchcock",Marion Cotillard in "Rust and Bone" and Emmanuelle Riva in "Amour".
Leading Actor nominations went to BenAffleck in "Argo", Bradley Cooper in "Silver Linings Playbook",Hugh Jackman in "Les Misérables" and Joaquin Phoenix for his role in"The Master", in addition Daniel Day-Lewis.
The BAFTA awarding ceremony is takingplace on 10 February at The Royal Opera House in London and will be hosted by Britishactor and writer Stephen Fry.
