Katy Perry and John Mayer Spark Engagement Rumors

Candy pop princess Katy Perry recently stirred up some engagement rumors when she was photographed wearing a heart-shaped ring on her engagement finger. It doesn't help that the photographs were taken as Perry was leaving a restaurant with boyfriend John Mayer on Valentine's Day, the two looking very happy.

According to The Sun, Mayer threw down a whopping $45,000 on the ruby as a "commitment ring."

The two have been an item since last summer, a quick turnaround for Perry who got divorced from Russell Brand at the end of 2011. Mayer, who has somewhat of a reputation as a Hollywood lothario, was recently quoted as saying, "I don't feel like I'm in a celebrity relationship. For the first time in my life, I don't feel like I'm in a celebrity relationship."

A source also told The Sun Mayer is "trying so hard to prove that his bad behavior towards women has changed." The source also said Katy Perry has said she's never been this happy.
