Last night, the Oscars for Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects (or VFX) were presented by "The Avengers" heroes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson. Both of the awards went to Ang Lee's "Life of Pi."
Cinematographer Claudio Miranda was almost at a loss for words when he accepted his award. The film, praised for the groundbreaking strides it took in 3D technology, also won for visual effects. The whole "Life of Pi" VFX team, which consisted of Joe Letteri, Eric Saindon, David Clayton and R. Christopher White, got up on stage to accept the award.
