Bradley Cooper may soon be making his directorial debut with the remake of the 2011 German blockbuster "Kokowääh," which he's signed on to star in for Warner Bros.

"Kokowääh" is about a bachelor, to be played by Cooper, who discovers his friend's daughter may be his biological child, as a result of a one-night stand years ago. The name itself comes from a haphazard German pronunciation of the French dish "coq au vin."

Cooper has swiftly become a highly sought-after actor, particularly following his Oscar nomination for his lead role in the quirky romantic comedy "Silver Linings Playbook." He may now join the ranks of a slew of Hollywood stars lately to transition from leading actors to directors, like Ryan Gosling, Melissa McCarthy, Ellen Page and Ben Affleck.

Bradley, 38, just wrapped filming "The Hangover Part III," while his festival hit "Place Beyond the Pines" just got the green light for a wider cinematic release in late March. Cooper co-stars in the crime drama alongside Eva Mendes, Ryan Gosling, Rose Byrne and Ray Liotta.
