Ahmad Rateb's Daughter Denies Rumors of Father's Death

Lamia, the daughter of the great Ahmad Rateb, has spoken to to deny rumors that her father has died. She insists that the reports are mere rumor and despite everyone thinking he's returned to the hospital, he is in rather good health. Thankfully, the reports have no basis.

Lamia added that Rateb is currently on set shooting "Al Da'aya" (The Preacher) alongside Hany Salama and Basma. The show is written by Medhat El Adl and directed by Mohamed Gamal El-Adel.

The show revolves around new preachers, and specifically a young preacher who follows in the footsteps of more famous television preachers who have massive audiences. It addresses a range of social and political issues Egypt is currently facing, and focuses on the role that preachers can play in the lives of ordinary people, particularly those who have been consistently disadvantaged.
