Boston native Mark Wahlberg had to walk the red carpet for his " Pain & Gain" premiere on Monday in New York, but there were weightier issues on his mind. Earlier, two bombs had gone off at the Boston marathon, killing three including an 8-year-old, and injuring over 170.

Wahlberg told CBS, "we're dealing with real life, man. None of this is important. We're dealing with real life and innocent people getting hurt. It's disgusting." He added, "I'm trying to be a pro and be out here doing my job... I'm just putting it all in perspective. This stuff doesn't mean anything compared to what's happening in the real world."

Mark, 41, whose passion for Boston has come across in films like " The Departed" and " Ted," also said, "You try to put everything in God's hands, and whatever happens here is out our control and there's a bigger picture. But it's obviously upsetting."

Recalling the horrifying Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, when 26 children and six adults in Connecticut were gunned down point blank by a disgruntled teen, Wahlberg lamented recent violence in America: "If you think about all the events over the last couple years, if we can't protect our innocent women and children, then we have a serious problem."
