Daniel Day-Lewis was just awarded an honorary degree from the prestigious Juilliard School, New York City's and perhaps the United States' most competitive performing arts conservatory. He attended the ceremony with his wife Rebecca Miller (fun fact: she's the daughter of playwright Arthur Miller), on Friday at Lincoln Center. Actress Laura Linney, who was given an honorary degree in 2009, was the commencement speaker.
Superfans will highly enjoy link of the "Lincoln" actor in the traditional academic cap and gown. The usually stoic Day-Lewis was all smiles at the event, where he gave a short speech.
