"El Kebir Awi" Third Season to Air Exclusively on CBC

CBC will be exclusively airing the third season of "El Kebir Awi" starring Ahmed Mekky this coming Ramadan, which begins on July 9.

The upcoming season will be a bit different from the previous ones. Each episode, about 20 minutes, was helmed by directing team Ahmed El Gendy and Hisham Fathi, who shared in directing duties in an attempt to speed up shooting so they could be included in this Ramadan's TV offerings after getting a late start to production.

Mekky will appear in the third season as a few different characters. In addition to his characters from the first two seasons, he'll be reviving his beloved "Hazel'om" from " La Taragoa wala Esteslam" (No Retreat, No Surrender).

Also starring in the series are Donia Samir Ghanem, Hesham Ismail Abo Yousof, Mohamed Shahin, as well as a number of guest stars like Bassem Youssef, Dalal Abed Elaziz, and shaabi singer Abdel Basset Hamouda. The third season's script can be attributed to writers Tamer Nady, Mostafa Sakr and Mohamed Ezz, the same team behind the previous season. A new addition to the writing team is Mostafa Helmy.
