Well it ain't Cairo if something insane isn't happening on the daily. Leading man Mohamed Ramadan recently pulled off an incredible stunt for his upcoming " Qalb Al Assad" (Lion Heart), which is currently being shot in preparation for an Eid el-Fitr release.
Despite the stunt's high levels of danger and difficulty, Ramadan decided to perform it without a stunt double. The stunt required Ramadan to jump from the 6th of October Bridge onto a fast-moving vehicle below. Onlookers gathered on location to watch the scene. And the attention is well warranted; it ranks among the riskiest scenes ever pulled off in Egyptian cinema, according to the stunt coordinator Fossi, the certified specialist who was brought in from South Africa for the sequence.
Ramadan said in his statements to that he's always loved adventure, but uses a stunt double in most of his films so that it feels realistic and credible to the audience.
He also added that he did a similar scene for " Abdo Mota," though less dangerous. In "Abdo" he jumped from the Abbass Bridge into the Nile four times during production, all four of which he did without a double and without even knowing how to swim. Though there were divers in the water to help him, he pointed out that being able to perform the stunts relied heavily on his physical fitness.
"Qalb Al Assad" co-stars Horeya Farghaly, Hassan Hosny, Aaidah Riyadh, Ahmed Essam and was written by Hossam Mousa. Karim Al Sobky is directing.
