The Muslim Brotherhood's leaders may be being round up by the powers that be and accused of inciting violence, but according to Hany Salama, the beleaguered Islamic organization won't receive any blows from the Ramadan show " El Da'eya." Salama told in an exclusive statement that the highly anticipated show has resonated well with audiences, and that they don't plan to make any attacks on the Muslim Brotherhood or its television clerics.
Salama plays the central character in the show, a young Islamic television preacher who wrestles with his religious commitments when he falls in love with a beautiful violinist, played by Basma. Hany added that the challenges and crises that arose earlier on in regards to the show have had no effect on its viewership. People are expecting the show to attack the Muslim Brotherhood, but according to Salama, the show will only tackle representing the reality of the life of a preacher, one who happens to fall in love despite the rigor of his religious life.
Hany also clarified that he'd be completing production on the film "El Rehab" (The Monk) after Eid el Fitr. Production on the film was put on hold last February so Salama could shoot "El Da'eya" Salama's co-stars in "El Rehab" include Saba Mubarak, and Jamal Suleiman. It's written by Medhat El Adl and directed by Hala Khalil.
