"Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" Biopic Trailer Released

The teaser trailer for the upcoming Mandela biopic " Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" has just been released! The film will span the remarkable life of the South African leader and Nobel laureate from his upbringing and his struggle for racial justice and equality, to his imprisonment and eventually his election as the first black president of the once apartheid-ruled nation. The trailer was released following the figure's 95th birthday, which millions of South Africans celebrated last Thursday.

Taking on the massive role is the talented British actor Idris Elba, a role that will most likely line him up for Oscar consideration. The film comes out in January of 2014.
Mandela is currently in the hospital, where he's been for the past six weeks after being admitted for a lung illness.
