Recently anointed media minister Doreya Sharaf El Din announced that all the Ramadan shows due to air on satellite channels on Friday would be postponed in order to cover the popular "No to Terrorism" demonstrations, called for by General Abdel Fattah el Sisi in a speech on Wednesday.
Among the satellite channels that were put on hold from Friday morning until dawn the next day were CBC, Dream, Al Hayat, OnTV, El Tahrir and Al Qahera Wal Nas.
The protest, meanwhile, covered on all the channels with split screen views from various governorates and locations in Cairo, brought out hundreds of thousands in the capitol, and presumably millions across the country in a show of support of the military's stance.
