The artist Mohamed Sobhy is currently following the feedback and reactions to the eighth season of the show “Wanis.” Sobhi stated in an exclusive statement to that it was wrong to screen the show during Ramadan due to the particular nature of the show, which has been strongly rooted in cultural and educational morals and values since its first season. The show was supposed to be aired after last Ramadan was finished but due to current events in Egypt, airing was postponed.
Sobhy pointed out that the show is produced by the Egyptian television. He expressed his deep sorrow for the lack of attention the Egyptian TV is suffering from. He wished for it to regain its pioneering status because it's the official state television and enjoyed a good credibility among a lot of people, confirming that Egyptian TV has to restore this credibility once again.
And about putting the names of the deceased artists in the intro, Sobhy said: “That's my duty because the show that lasted more than ten years was not the product of my sole effort, but it was a collective effort of a big group of artists and putting their names in the show's intro is the least I can do for them as a tribute to their efforts.”
In other news, about his last work Sobhy confirmed that he'll be working on the third part of “Sonbol Wel Million” under the name of “Sonbol Fel Sudan,” cooperating with the Sudanese embassy. It's supposed to generally be about the Nile River.
