Pop crooner Mostafa Amar has yet to specify the release date of his new album "Motamin," which he has long finished recording, but it looks like the singer will wait out the current instability to release the record.
Amar was supposed to put out the album this Eid el Fitr, but he's ruled it out, citing the turbulent current political events that have been unfolding since June 30. The events have led many artists, like Amr Diab, to delay releasing albums until the situation in Egypt stabilizes.
The forthcoming album will feature 12 songs, collaborations with a number of composers and songwriters, among them composer Tamer Ali, Khaled Tahamy, and Mohamed el Nady. Among the writers are Amir Taeema, Ayman Bahgat Amar and Nasser el Gil. He's also working with a few distributors like Tarek Madkour, Amir Mahrous and Mohamed Ragab. Fans can also soon expect the music video for "Betariqa," which was shot by French director Steven Renard.
Amar became a popular pop star in the 1990s, putting out a string of romantic, saccharine albums that found a welcome home on the Egyptian radio waves. He has put out sixteen studio albums and has starred in a number of films.
