"2 Guns" Bumps "Wolverine" From #1 Spot in U.S. Box Office

Guns, drug trafficking, crime and strong leads. " 2 Guns" has it all with Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg in an all too familiar tale of unercover federal agents with questionable motives unknowingly investigating one another. The flick brought in $27.3 million in its opening week, bumping Hugh Jackman's "The Wolverine" to second place. The "X-Men" spin-off made $21.7 million this week, bring its gross revenue up to $95 million.

In third place is "The Smurfs," a 3D, CGI adaptation of a beloved children's cartoon featuring the voices of Hank Azaria, Neil Patrick Harris, Brendan Gleeson, Christina Ricci and Katy Perry. It's amassed $18.2 million this week. In fourth place is the chilling and well-reviewed supernatural horror "The Conjuring," which has terrified moviegoers enough this week to bring in $13.6 million.

"Despicable Me 2" fell back one spot, with $10.4 million this week. This brings its gross total up to a whopping $326.7 million. The animated show is in its fifth week in theaters, and also stars Steve Carell, making that large sum well deserved.

Another sequel "Grown Ups 2" also experienced a slump, making $8.1 million. "Turbo" earned $6.4 million, followed by "RED 2" with $5.6 million. "The Heat" starring Sandra Bullock brought in $4.7 million, a finally the massively budgeted "Pacific Rim" made $4.5 million.
