Malmo Arab Film Festival continues its third day events despite the clear discontent the Egyptian delegation showed. Discontent comes from what the delegation called "disorganization" as they were met by demonstrations supporting the unseated president Mohamed Morsi on the opening night.
Some of the Egyptian TV reporters have expressed their discontent earlier from the festival's organizing committee and decided to withdraw from the festival as a reply to the “harassment” the delegation went through as reported by Asmaa Youssef, Nile Cinema reporter and national television official envoy to the festival.
In other news, the festival events include the screening of “Lama Dehket Monalisa” (When Monalisa Smiled) for the Jordanian director Fadi Hadad and the Saudi movie “Wadjda” directed by Haifaa Al Mansour, as part of the official contest. In the “Arabian Nights” section, the festival is showing the Syrian movie “Bab Sharqy” (Eastern Door) from the director Ahmed Atef, who sheds some light on the actual suffering the Syrian people undergo inside and outside of Syria due of ongoing fighting there.
