"The Citizen" in American Theaters on the 27th of September

Khaled El Nabawy's “The Citizen” will be in American theaters from the 27th of September. El Nabawy is co-starring a number of American actors, among them William Atherton, Cary Elwes, Agnes Bruckner and Rizwan Manji. The movie is directed by Sam Kadi.

“The Citizen” is the first international leading role for Khaled El Nabawy and the third experience of this kind. Nabawy had previously played the role of an Arab in “Fair Game” with Naomi Watts and Sean Penn and Ridley Scott's “Kingdom Of Heaven.” “The Citizen” was screened in Cannes, Heartland and Abu Dhabi Film festivals.

The movie is about an Arab citizen who wins an American green card in the yearly lottery. He arrives in the "land of the free" one day before 9/11/2001, gets arrested and is released from jail only to face further troubles. The movie shows the life of an Arab in the States just after 9/11.
