Mohamed Hassan Ramzy: Theaters won't get a good turnout until curfew is gone

Reducing the curfew hours has not increased turnout at the theaters, said producer and distributor Mohamed Hassan Ramzy to . He added that no major change will happen to the status quo unless the curfew is totally removed. He also noted that the shops and malls that are normally around theaters close their doors early with the curfew, affecting the surrounding and the general atmosphere for the people with the will to go to theaters.

Ramzy explained that the main cinema showtimes are ones nine o'clock and midnight, which have been both canceled with the curfew and haven't been restored with the reduction of curfew's hours. He noted that even for the six o'clock showtime, audiences are worried about getting back home before 11 PM.

Five movies have been released this Eid Al Fitr season: “Qalb El Assad,” starring Mohamed Ramadan and topping the revenues race with 15 million L.E., “ Kalby Dalily” starring Sameh Hussein, “Nazareyet Amety” starring Hassan El Raddad and Horeya Farghaly, “ Tom & Jimmy” starring Hany Ramzy and “El Brencissa” starring Ola Ghanem.
