Through his twitter account, Egyptian director Ahmed Abdallareleased a new poster for his upcoming film “ Fersh wa Ghatta” (Rags and Tatters), starring Asser Yassin.
Asser appears in the new poster, with one of the film's main locations in the background, as the film was shot in a number of slums in Cairo, including “Al Zabbaleen” and “Al Imam Graveyards.” The poster was designed by the film's cinematographer Tarek Hefny, winner of this year's state encouragement award for cinematography.
The film tells the story of a prisoner who escaped from prison after the 25th of January uprising in Egypt, and it follows his attempt to adapt to living within his society once again. The film also delves into the complexities of how society perceives him.
The film recently participated in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the Toronto International Film Festival, and it was also selected for the official competition of the London Film Festival.
