Actress Kinda Alloush is currently shooting her new film “La Mo’akhza” (No Offense) in a school in Masr Gedida. They're expected to finish shooting the film within three weeks.
Kinda started shooting the film in early May, but production was put on hold due political events and instability. They resumed shooting around ten days ago, and have so far completed about 60% of the film, which also stars Hany Adel and Samy Asaad. The film is helmed by writer and director Amr Salama (Asmaa, 678).
The film is due out this winter holiday season, given that things calm down politically, though Film Clinic founder and producer of the film, Mohamed Hefzy, has yet to settle on an exact release date.
According to Egypt Independent, "La Mo'akhza" was shut down by censors in 2010, despite multiple adjustments to the script, in anticipation of "bad reactions, or upsetting the Christian community." According to the 2011 article, the film would have followed a young Coptic boy, who upon entering a new school, doesn't correct his classmates when he's mistaken for Muslim.
