Mike Massimino, a NASA astronaut, has praised Alfonso Cuaron's new film " Gravity", stating that "Somebody did their homework.” Massimino assured that every little detail was exactly like what it was in the missions he participated in, and that the research made for the film was very accurate.

Sandra Bullock stars in the film as Ryan Stone, a medical engineer who's on her first space shuttle mission, along with Matt Kowalski, who is an astronaut commanding his final expedition, played by George Clooney. The film is about how the routine mission turns into an impossible survival challenge, as the shuttle gets destroyed, and Stone and Kowalski become alone in space, able to communicate only with one another. Silence around them deafens their ears, and they know that they lost all contact with planet earth and every chance to get rescued, while running out of oxygen. To them, the only way to get back to Earth is to swim deeper in space.

“Gravity” was positively received by critics, and Sandra Bullock was nominated for best actress in the Hollywood films awards.
