Syrian star Jenny Asper is getting ready to shoot her new show “Khawatim” (Rings) with director Nagi Teameh. The show is written by Nadia al Ahmar, and produced by the Golden Line Artistic Productions and Distribution company. “Khawatim” is set for a Ramadan 2014 release.
Asper revealed that she plays a woman who was orphaned as a child and raised in the orphanage. She grows up to work in a bank, though she veers into some morally questionable work with the orphanage in which she was raised. Those who run the orphanage use the girls to serve their own interests and also take advantage of Asper’s position at the bank. She bears witness to corruption and money laundering.
Jenny said she considers the show a great opportunity to highlight the exploitation of vulnerable people, who provide services and conduct illegal activities when they're in no position to refuse work.
The show also stars Kinda Hanna, Abdel Moneim Amiry, Karis Bachar, as well as a whole batch of fresh faces.
