Barbara Walters apologized to Katy Perry on her show, The View. The apology came after the pop star's interview with Billboard magazine, where she talked about the condition she was in when she was Walters' guest on The View.
Perry said that her marriage was on the rocks during the time: "I shouldn't have done the interview, I was playing Madison Square Garden that same night, and I knew that the end of my marriage was coming. I was just exhausted and stressed," she said. She added that she pepped everyone that she was running late but Walters was there on time and told her: “You know, I've only ever waited for one other person this long, and you know who that person was? Judy Garland. You know how she turned out, right?”
Walters took a minute of her show to address the Perry saying: "Katy, if I made you feel at all unhappy, during a time when you were obviously unhappy, and I didn't know, I'm sorry, But you can't always know!"
